How to Draw Sci-Fi Utopias and Dystopias

HOW TO DRAW SCI-FI UTOPIAS AND DYSTOPIAS (Monacelli Studio, 2016) grew out of my love of drawing and my life-long preoccupation with sci-fi. The book is both a manual for generating sci-fi imagery on paper, and an extended meditation on what sci-fi is, and why it’s marked with this huge schism between utopian and dystopian visions of the future. There are chapters on drawing humans, aliens, robots, land vehicles, space vehicles, and sci-fi cityscapes, and the book is peppered throughout with stills from sci-fi movies that influenced my art.
