A bizzarre, surreal construct on an alien world, in the spirit of the works of Swiss surrealist painter H.R. Giger. Giger had a massive and lasting influence on me as a kid (he designed the creatures in 'Alien'). Drawn with ink on paper, colored digitally and with markers. From my book 'How to Draw Sci-fi Utopias and Dystopias' (Phaidon, 2016).

Family living large inside the excursion yacht. I wanted to create a sense of comfort and ease amidst the hostile outer environment--elements of this scene were inspired by the work of the great concept artist Syd Mead. Drawn with ink on paper, digitally coloured.
